Ytra Lón Farm Lodge

Ytra Lón – A Countryside Retreat

Ytra Lón is a peaceful countryside retreat on the Langanes Peninsula, where open landscapes, quiet surroundings and closeness to nature create space to slow down and simply enjoy being present.

This is a place not just to stay, but to settle in for a while. We welcome longer stays and are particularly well suited to groups looking to spend a few days together, whether to hike, create, host a workshop, work together or simply enjoy good company in peaceful surroundings.

Ytra Lón is ideal for hiking groups, creative and artistic retreats, craft workshops, work groups, families and friends, as well as instructors and facilitators looking for a place to host their own programme. Groups can plan their stay independently or ask us to help arrange hikes, excursions and other local experiences.

Nature is an essential part of life at Ytra Lón. The sea, coastline, river and wide-open landscapes are right on the doorstep, while Langanes offers beautiful hiking routes, rich birdlife and a remarkable sense of tranquillity. Ytra Lón is also a working farm, home to sheep, horses, dogs and chickens, giving guests a glimpse into the rhythms of rural life in this remote corner of Iceland.

Accommodation consists of nine spacious rooms and studios with private bathrooms, along with a shared dining room and spaces suitable for meetings, workshops, yoga and creative activities. Full-board stays are available, including breakfast, lunch and dinner, with an emphasis on ingredients from the surrounding area and our own farm whenever possible.

A stay at Ytra Lón can be as active or as slow as you choose – hiking across Langanes, birdwatching, exploring the shoreline, making and creating, experiencing farm life, or simply sharing good food and enjoying the time and space to unwind.

Ytra Lón feels more like a home than a hotel – a countryside retreat for those who want to stay a little longer, reconnect with nature and find their own rhythm at the far reaches of the Langanes Peninsula.
