We are one of the few travel agencies that offer horse riding tours with hotel accommodation. These tours can either be booked as micro group tours with a maximum of 6 riders or private tours. We welcome you to our home where the dogs live as part of the family. Husky dogs are extremely friendly and like to meet visitors. Hugs and kisses and talk about the dogs over a cup of coffee.

Time: approx. one hour

Hiking and visit: (Hiking with husky)

A different kind of walk through our countryside. We provide a dog, harness and leash. You come in good shoes and in a good mood. After the talk we offer drinks and husky kisses.

Time: approx. 2 hours

Sledding: (Dogsledding)

January - March. A trip where dogs pull you on a sled around our local area. Unique experience. After the sled ride, we offer drinks in the wonderful company of our dogs.

Time: approx. 2 hours

We are a short distance from Akureyri, only a 5-minute drive. Please note, each experience is private, only for one group at a time, and therefore reservations must be made in advance.

Groups are kept small to ensure a personal experience, so make sure to book well in advance, and remember, whatever tour you choose, belly rubs are mandatory!

We offer husky rides , with and without transfer options.

Departure point: 30min drive from Reykjavik.

Activity Duration: The husky ride is about 45 min - total experience about 90min

Snow Dogs offers dog sledding tours, cart rides and Kennel visit at our Kennel Vallholt between Lake Mývatn and Akureyri, North Iceland.

Visit the pack at our kennel and get to know how joyful, intelligent and gentle they are. Get to know their love to pull and work and of course to cuddle and play.

We have created a unique sled dog environment where we emphasize respect for the dogs and focus on their well being.

We keep them unchained so they can socialize in fences at our kennel. In our kennel are about 25-30 dogs so we can give each dog a lot of attention.

Snow Dogs welcomes families with children all ages. And people with special challenges.

Usually we start our dog tours from our farm Vallholt. Sometimes when conditions are difficult we move the tours to other locations near by.
