The Lake House of Úlfljótsvatn

We are the Icelandic Forestry Association, an Icelandic NGO founded in 1930 to promote forestry and reforestation. Most of all, we represent the 64 community-based forestry associations you can find across the country, a vast network of roughly 7500 dedicated people who have been planting trees for almost a century in order to better the land and reclaim the lost forests of Iceland. Our farm in Úlfljótsvatn welcomes international volunteers during the summer time. We are now opening it in the winter time as an Airbnb to raise awareness about forestry among the general public, but also to help us keep on with our activities as an NGO.
