The forgotten farmhouse

Experience the charm of a lovingly restored 1950s farmhouse during your exploration of South Iceland at The Forgotten Farmhouse. Perfect for families, friends, or a romantic retreat, this accommodation is thoughtfully designed to meet your daily needs. The farmhouse features a fully equipped kitchen and dining room, a cozy bedroom with a comfortable double bed, and a living room with a sofa bed. For families with infants, a crib can be provided upon request, catering to babies aged 0-2 years old. Built in 1953 as a homestead, the house was left abandoned when the farmers moved to the city in 1962. Neglected and exposed to the elements, it remained forgotten until the current owners embarked on a meticulous renovation journey in 2022. Every effort has been made to preserve the dreams and vision of the original owners. As a result, you may notice charming imperfections, such as slightly crooked walls and imperfect corners. These are not mistakes but intentional tributes to the hard work of the farmers who did their best with the resources available. Immerse yourself in the rich history and unique character of The Forgotten Farmhouse as you create lasting memories in this distinctive retreat.
