Stóra-Vatnshorn is located in Haukadalur in the west part of Iceland. Peaceful and quiet place with beautiful nature all around. Well located for day trips to Snæfellsnes, Borgarfjörður, Hólmavík and Hvammstangi. Eiríksstaðir, were Leif the Lucky was born, is just 500 meters away from the farm. 

The ?old farmhouse? has five bedrooms, twins and double rooms. Made up beds and/or sleeping bag accommodation available. Shared kitchen, bathroom and sitting room. 

Cottages (x2) have one bedroom with bunk bed (lower is 120 cm). Common area with sleeping couch, dining and kitchen facilities. Heating, running water (hot and cold) and wc. Showers are shared with the camping site, right next to the cottages. 
Stóra-Vatnshorn is a working farm with sheep, horses, cats and dog. The same family has almost continuously lived at the farm for more than 300 years.
