Spoi Guesthouse

Spói Guest House in Hvolsvöllur is situated at Hlíðaveg 15 on the main road into Fljótshlíð.  The house was built in 1960 and was owned by the mayor at that time and went on to be owned by the Rangá Co-op.
The present owners and your hosts, Gunnhildur and Gusti have lived here since 1998.  In 2015, they made the desicion to make a part of the house into a B&B guesthouse.  It now has room for 12 guests in 6 comfortable and spacious rooms.  There are 3 bathrooms available and a separate entrance for guests.  The interior of the house has been totally refurbished with new furniture, beds and decor.

The guesthouse has the name Spói (Whimbrel in English) which is one of the most well known birds in the whole of Iceland.  It is a wading bird and the half of the world´s population breed and hatch their young in Iceland.  Their breeding colonies are very tightly gathered on new sprouting meadows.  The Rangá community is most likely the richest area in the world for the whimbrels.

We hope that your stay with us even if it is just overnight, is relaxing, entertaining and mostly comfortable!
