Rauduskridur Farm Stay
Rauðuskriður is a tradutional Icelandic farm located in Fljótshlíð in the South of Iceland, around 20 minutes from Hvölsvollur. Today, it is run and the home of us, Steini and Ingveldur, and some of our younger children.
Rauðuskridur used to be a dairy farm until 1999 and after that we mainly farm sheep. We also have horses, a few cows, two dogs and a cat. The housing consists of the main house where we live and four independent cabins located at around 30 meters from the main house. Each cabin has all the necessary utilities and equipment for a very nice stay, short or long, including a private bathroom with shower, a kitchen and a queen or twin bed, as well as fresh towels, basic cooking condiments and cleaning supplies.
In the premises there are many facilities for our guests comfort including a hot tube (full and covered so ready to be used at any time), an electric grill and a large outdoor table to hold barbeques or small parties. There is also plenty of space if larger groups want to come with their tents and camp under the stars.
We like to think that it is the perfect accommodation and getaway for all sorts of traveling groups: couples, group of friends, and families with children. Everyone can enjoy and take advantage of the tranquillity and peace of the nature around us and learn from Icelandic farming and nature or take a hike up Stóra Dímon mountain
We are hoping to welcome you and your travel buddies in our cosy and peaceful home and farm stay.
