The nearby Grotta nature reserve has a rich birdlife and is the best viewing platform for the midnight sun.

Grocery store, liquor store, pharmacy and bakery are within 10 minutes walking distance. The local geothermal swimming pool (Sundlaug Seltjarnarness) offers mineral rich water, hot tubs and waterslide and can be reached in less than 10 minutes by foot. Bus drive to the city center takes 11 minutes, bus 11 stops 200m from the apartment and drives downtown every 15 minutes during weekdays.
