Eyja Guldsmeden is a boutique hotel with 65 rooms and is located right off Laugavegur, the main shopping street, and next to Hlemmur Square, offering a view over the city and its signature mountain Esja.
Eyja operates by the guidelines of the Guldsmeden Hotels, based on sustainability and ecology. Eyja has also received the Green Globe Certificate.
At Eyja Guldsmeden the emphasis is on local and organic food products and environmental responsibility.
All Guldsmeden hotels are Green Globe Certified and Eyja is the only hotel in Iceland with that certificate. Green Globe is environmental and social certification program represented in over 83 countries. The hotel follows the The Sustainable Management Plan which has been developed by Guldsmeden Hotels’ Green Team by following the Green Globe Certification Standard.

Eyja Guldsmeden is owned by Linda Jóhannsdóttir and her husband Ellert Finnbogason, who have years of experience in the hotel business.
The owners of Eyja Hotel have a strong passion for hotel managing and always go out of their way to ensure that their guests have a pleasant and memorable stay.
