Hali

Hali Country Hotel in South East Iceland offers comfortable accommodation at a reasonable price. Hali is a well known cultural place as one of Iceland‘s most famous writers was born here, Þórbergur Þórðarson (1888 – 1974). 

Hali Country Hotel is located 13 km east of Jökulsárlón, Glacier Lagoon, 73 km from Skaftafell National park, and it is 70 km to town Höfn.

At Hali Country Hotel are double, twin and triple rooms, altogether 35 rooms in 2 houses accommodating up to 80 guests. There are also 2  modern apartments available for rent with 2 double rooms each and a sofa in the living room

There is a fully licensed restaurant in Þórbergur centre with seating for 100 guests. It is open from 8 - 9 every day from February to December, closed 2 months December and January.

Þórbergur centre in Hali is a cultural heritage centre dedicated to the writer Þórbergur Þórðarson. There is a museum with a unique expedition telling the stories of this area, Suðursveit, and Þórbergur Þórðarson‘s life and works.
