Explore the magnificent lava tunnel Raufarhólshellir, one of the longest lava tubes found in Iceland. The tunnel is located just 30 minutes from Reykjavík and is accessible the whole year round.

Ocean adventures offers fun boat tours from Stykkishólmur, Snæfellsnes.   Our boat is a typical Icelandic fishing boat and therefore he is very suitable for sea angling and he is specially good for nature- and bird watching because you have a chance to get closer to the ocean and the birds than in many other bigger boats. We put ambition in offering excellent service for everyone. In all our tours there is a good chance to see seals.

Puffin express: The Puffin is with out a doubt the most popular bird around Iceland. There is only a short sailing from Stykkishólmur to a great puffin area but the islands in Breiðafjörður are one of his main habitat over the summer time. This tour is for everyone who wants to see beautiful nature and bird life, but our main focus is on the puffin. The main puffin season is from may to the end of august but during winter time we put more attention on alround bird-and nature waching. Sea Angling: This is a real “all in one“ tour. Here we combine amazing nature, bird watching and fishing. We take off from Stykkishólmur harbor and sail off to a good fishing spot. The captain is an experienced fisherman from the area and he will teach you all the right ropes so you get a better chance to get some fish. After the trip the fish is filleted and you can take the catch with you to cook.

The fish we catch is usually cod or pollock, but you can catch halibut, ocean perch, haddock and many more

Our tours are very personal, we only take few people so we can give everyone the best service possible. This tour is for everyone, no age limit and no experience required. We got good quality fishing rods so you will feel like a real pro. Our boat is a typical Icelandic fishing boat so you  get a real Icelandic fishing experience. Even in my early youth in my home country Germany, I got to know and love the Icelandic horses. In 1996 I moved to Iceland and finished the FT young horse trainer diploma, awarded by the Icelandic Horse Trainers Association. Over the years I have gathered a lot of experience in horse tourism and worked on various farms as a guide and a horse trainer. Since 2004, I have been a part-time adjunct in the tourism department of the Hólar University college, in addition to my job as a horse trainer. In 2007 I completed an MBA degree in Tourism and Leisure Management. In 2010 I began my studies at Hólar University College’s department of Equine science from where I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in riding and riding instructions in May 2013. 2013 - June 2014 I worked as a horse trainer at Mette Mannseth´s and Gisli Gislason´s farm Þúfur. Mette is the chef riding teacher in Hólar University College and the first woman to achieve the Master riding teacher and horse trainer degree of Iceland. This is the highest degree in icelandic horsemanship and just 5 other riders have ever achieved it.
Gisli and Mette are also among the best competition and breeding horse riders in Iceland.

Since september 2014 I am parttime teacher at the department of Equine studies of Hólar University College.

Dynjandi Guesthouse is surrounded by some of the most spectacular countryside that Iceland has to offer and is particularly attractive for outdoor activities. The farm house is located across the peninsula of Höfn, the massive glaciers of the South East are just a couple of minutes drive away as well as Stokksnes and Vestrahorn, and the nearby Lónsöræfi invites to long hikes.

Southcoast Adventure was established in 2009 by Þorgerður Guðmundsdóttir and Ársæll Hauksson. To begin with, there was just ONE jeep that was used to offer trips to tourists and mostly Icelanders who wanted to see more of their beautiful country. Two years later, their first member of staff was hired. The company today has 28 vehicles of all shapes and sizes, including snowmobiles and 4×4 buggies.

Initially, daily trips were offered to Eyjafjallajökul, Þórsmörk, and Fimmvörðuháls. Today, the company has grown considerably, and daily trips are offered in many vehicles to many destinations: snowmobile and buggy trips; twice daily departures to the ice cave; trips transporting luggage for those clients who are doing hikes to the various glaciers, mountains, and the interior; glacier ice-hikes as well as those up mountains and further inland.

All of this and custom-made trips/adventures for those who thirst for something off the beaten track. Many of the staff are also active members of the local Search and Rescue, and this obviously is a bonus when dealing with Icelandic nature and the sometimes rugged environment. Thankfully, their unique skills have not often been called upon, but it is a reassuring skill to have.

No two days are the same, and there is always a feeling of excitement for the next day at work and the adventures it may bring. The company prides itself on building incredible trips and memories for our clients, both locals and foreigners. Horse back riding with personal service
It is ideal for families and small groups of friends. Everyone can take part and the guides can lead the youngest childrens by the rein during the trip. We always start inside the riding arena where we will teach you all the basics and then we go outside and ride with you. There are good horses for both unexperienced riders and as well for experienced riders. You can choose between 1, 2 or 3 hours trips and even a day-trip for experienced riders which are 5 hours.

We also provide children tours where we lead their horses by the rein inside the riding arena for about 10 minutes.

We accommodate guests to visit our farm animals and see a real icelandic farm! We guide you on the farm for about 1 hour and you get the opportunity to spend some time with our animals to get to know them and pet them.

Holiday house
Cosy holiday house in the country side where up to 7 people can sleep. Vorsabær 2 is situated only 80 kilometers from Reykjavík. In the house there are 2 bedrooms, one of which has a double bed and the other a bunk bed. Besides there is a 18 m2 sleeping loft with 3 beds. We also provide a crib on request, free for children up to 2 years old. There is floor heating in the house and the kitchen is equipped with all necessary tableware and is included in a spacious living room with a TV. Outside the living room is a patio with garden furniture and a gas barbecue. The view from the house is breathtaking, looking east you can see the volcano Hekla and in winter there is a good chance to witness amazing northern lights!

Have a Blast in Westman Islands: Ribsafari offers fun and exciting entertainment in Westman Islands (Vestmannaeyjar). Sailing around the islands in a rigid inflatable boat (RIB) is an experience you won’t forget.

Choose between one or two hour trips where you will see the puffin in its natural environment along with other wildlife, amazing landscape and sea caves and get a guided tour while riding the waves.

Our boat tours to Drangey Island start from Sauðárkrókur marina, surrounded by the stunning landscape of Skagafjordur in North of Iceland.

Drangey island is a birdwatching paradise. The island is a nesting colony for thousands of seabirds, including puffins, guillemots, gannets, kittiwakes, fulmar, shearwaters along with ravens and gyrfalcons. The island is a sheer sided palagonite rock aproximately 180m high and provides a wonderful view over the whole fjord.

A trip to Drangey is a unique experience combining  sightseeing, birdwatching, sailing, hiking with personal service and guidance. There is a man made path to the top of the island along the face of the cliffs. While hiking you can get up close to the puffins that frequently sit resting within a few meters of the path. During the hike our tour guides tell the ancient stories of Grettir the strong, a viking that lived on the island in excile and more recent ones of how the islands resources have harvested from past to present. The tour is suitable for both groups and individuals of all ages. The tour duration is approximately 4 hours.

It´s not a problem if someone does not wish to take on the hiking part of the trip to the top of the island.  Those who wish can stay on the boat or go on shore at the small harbor in Drangey, relax and enjoy the beautiful scenes of nature all around.

Over the summer months, June 1st - August 20 st, we offer daily trips to Drangey from Sauðárkrókur at 10:00 am.

In May and September are no scheduled tours but tours can be arranged on request.

4x4 Adventures Iceland is located just a 5 min. drive from the Blue Lagoon and is specialized in receiving small and large groups of people. Just get in contact and we will organize the event whether it is a surprise event, your company´s annual event, a family event or just something you would like to try. Almost anything goes.

Here are some of our scheduled trips:

• We ride on ATV between lava and black sand up between two mountains and ride up onto one where we expect a good view over the Blue Lagoon and the island Eldey.
• We ride to the Krýsuvík nature reserve over one mountain and to the lava beach to see the ruins of fishermen´s huts, Selatangar.

There is no age limit for passengers, but a driver´s licence needs to be presented for the ATV driver. Necessary gear is offered for visitors on these trips such as gloves, helmets with headlights and warm waterproof overall clothing for use in caves and craters.

Kaldbakur Tours offers during the winter trips up the mountain Kaldbakur which is 1.173m high, making it the highest peak on the northeastern side of Eyjafjörður, with panoramic views all the way east to Langanes and into the highlands of Iceland. Kaldbakur is known as one of Iceland’s Energy spots, and a trip up Kaldbakur is an unforgettable experience.

Kalbakur Tours operate two snow cats with a combined maximum capacity of 64 adults.  They are both open air so it is necessary to dress warmly according to weather conditions.  The journey up Kaldbakur takes approximately 45 minutes.   At the very top is a Cairn, which the Danish Kings Army erected in 1914.  We stop there for about 15 minutes to enjoy the magnificent view in all directions.  Our drivers point out various landmarks and are happy to answer any questions.  It’s also tradition to sign the guestbook, which is kept in the cairn.
Passengers can then choose to ski, snowboard, walk, sled or just sit back and enjoy the ride down again in the snow cat.  If the adventure bug bites, it’s possible to use one of our own design Icelandic snow sledges, especially made for adults. They are big and strong with enough room for two, great for the whole family.

A visit to an eiderdown farm, learning about the eider ducks’ life and nesting, and how the eiderdown is cleaned. Guests can see how the eiderdown is processed through various stages until it is put into quilts and pillows. Visits from 25 May until 3 July. It is necessary to book in advance.

The visit includes an easy walk around the living and nesting areas of the eider ducks, observing how this wild bird is protected and cared for so that it feels comfortable. Other bird species can be seen near the nesting area. It is crucial to tread carefully and listen carefully to the guide throughout the walk.

In the farm's down-cleaning building there is an opportunity to inspect and feel the eiderdown in various stages of the cleaning process and also to see samples of completed products.

Refreshments are served in the guestroom that includes items connected with farming.

Lakagigar is nestled deep in the Icelandic highlands between the glaciers Vatnajökull and Mýrdalsjökull . This is like entering another world like no other place on earth.  Some have seen similarity with the land of Mordor in the epic adventure film Lord of the Rings based on the novel by J.R.R. Tolkien yet so beautiful and peaceful in the middle of the mountains and mossy green lava.

Don’t risk your precious rental car crossing rivers on the rough track to Laki.  There is no insurance in the world that covers damage to your car when crossing rivers.   

Crossing deep rivers and driving on rough mountain tracks are what the Icelandic Super Jeep was made for.  The Super Jeep was born in Iceland.  It’s a four-wheel drive, all-terrain vehicles equipped with massive suspension systems and tires ranging from 38″ to 46″ in size.  Besides using enormous tires, these vehicles have reshaped bodies to house the larger wheels, extended suspension, and a special lift kit to increase the ride height.  

Most Icelandic mountain tracks and roads (f roads) are just for larger 4x4 vehicles with experienced drivers.  They are narrow little maintained tracks and there are rivers to cross and sharp rocks and pot holes hard to see on the way.

Among the places we visit in the tour is Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon, Fagrifoss waterfall, Tjarnargigur Crater and of course Lakagigar and the mountain Laki.

We are located in the beautiful Engidalur Valley, a 5 minutes drive from Isafjordur. The area is characterised by majestic mountains and an abundance of rivers and waterfalls and at the bottom of the valley is Isafjordur’s first Hydroelectric Power Station, The Fossavatn Power Plant (Fossavatnsvirkjun). With sheep roaming free throughout the valley, extraordinary birdlife and beautiful scenery, we can guarantee a great experience with us.

Our stables in Engidalur ave been used by numerous riders throughout the years and are a big part of the history of horse riding in Isafjordur. In 2006 Árni and Mimmo bought the stables and started renovating the buildings. Now we have eight 8,2 sq meter stalls for our horses and we plan on adding another four soon. We also have our own riding arena, a dressing room and riding gear storage, a coffeeroom and a small bathroom.

Experience the raw natural beauty of the area while riding an Icelandic horse. We offer short riding tours every day, suitable for both beginners and advanced riders. We take pleasure in introducing people from all over the world to the wonders of the Icelandic horse and the beautiful area of Westfjords. Our tours have been designed so that everyone can join us for a ride they find suitable to their skills.

You are required to wear a helmet while riding with us and we will provide you with one when you arrive. We can also provide you with anything else you might need, such as overalls, boots, gloves, headwear, saddles and bridles. We also give you the option of using GoPro filming and photography, we will document each and individual tour and send you the media within two weeks from your visit. Guided walks in English through Huldustígur the Hidden Trail 

It takes about 1 hour with the guidance of Bryndis Fjóla who is a seer and horticulturist. The walk takes you slowly through the Botanical Garden in Akureyri and Bryndis Fjóla will talk about the hidden people and elves that dwell in the garden. She will tell you about their roles in existence and the messages they bring both today and in ancient times.  

The hidden people and elves have always wanted to live in harmony among us, sharing the earth’s precious ecosystem. Generations of stories passed down through the centuries tell how we are linked together in nature. They save the lives of those lost at sea or in snowstorms, show us how to find hot or cold clean water, and where to place a healthy farm. On this 2-hour tour we enjoy a relaxed walk among natural wonders not found in many guidebooks, including the spectacular two-tiered waterfall Langifoss. We’ll also learn about Iceland’s renewable energy practices, cross an icy stream of glacial meltwater and see the site to Ok jökull, Iceland’s first glacier claimed by climate change.

The highlight of our excursion is a serene soak in the recently completed Húsafell Canyon Baths, a surreal hot spring paradise that must be seen to be believed. Enjoy half an hour of relaxing, recharging and breathing in the pure Icelandic air before heading back to Hotel Húsafell. 

While the tour is not technically demanding, it does require the participant to walk un-aided over uneven terrain as well as down 64 steps to the canyon floor to reach the baths.

The horse rental/The travel service at Stóra-Sandfell is located 17 km. south of Egilsstaðir, by highway 95. When driving over the road called Öxi (which is the shortest route) or Breiðdalsheiði, the roads lie between Höfn and Egilsstaðir.

We offer horseriding, 1-2 hours tours, through Sandfell's forest and nearby. All of the horseriding tours are monitored by a guide. We always try to make sure we find a horse that suits each and every rider well. Before each trip we go over all safety rules and do some practice rounds inside a fence.

There is no fixed time for the riding tours, so all tours are planned individually. The minimum number of riders is 2 for each trip and the maximum is 10 riders.

South East ehf is a small family business  located in the town of Höfn on the southeast coast of Iceland.

Our names are Anna María and Siggi and we have two children who are not so much children any more, we run this business and our aim is to make your visit to our beautiful area as magnificent as we can. We have lived here almost all our lives and know the area and its hidden gems.

Siggi is the driver and guide, he has volunteered for many years in our local rescue unit, he is a captain of the rescue ship in Höfn, He worked as a fisherman for about 23 years mostly as a captain, but for the last years he has been a harbor pilot and the director of the port of Hornafjörður.
