The hotel has 14 rooms with a restaurant and a selection of all the services that can be expected from a top class hotel of this kind. The hotel is built as an extension from the farm so we look on our visitors as guests of the family because that’s the Icelandic sense of hospitality that we have been brought up on.

At our restaurant, we offer a good selection of dishes made with passion from fresh ingredients. The restaurant has a cozy and relaxing vibe, with nice surrounding. The Skálakot is also a nice place to step in for refreshments on your way exploring the waterfalls and black sand beaches of South Iceland.

Skálakot Horseback Riding Tours

At Skálakot we offer both short day tours horseback riding as well as multi-day tours. In the short tours, we ride in the beautiful surrounding of our farm, with waterfalls, black sand beach, and the glacier.  For the longer tours, we go into the highlands to visit places like Landmannalaugar, Hekla and Þórsmörk.

We have a wide range of horses both for beginners and experienced riders. And we always do what we can to modify the riding to the experience of the people we have for the tour.
