Hengifoss Guesthouse

Only 6 km from iconic Hengifoss Waterfall, East Iceland, our family-run guesthouse is located in scenic and calm countryside. A perfect place to dwell on your journey around Iceland, while exploring the East or simply having a break in tranquillity.

We offer accommodation in cozy rooms with either a private bathroom or a shared bathroom. You can book a room with a kitchenette or enjoy our wholesome breakfast. In the summertime, we offer freshly made dinners from local ingredients in our lovely dining room. You can also enjoy a drink in our fireplace lounge area – or outside on our terrace if the sun is out!

We also have a well-equipped camping and caravan site with BBQ facilities and a playground.

Great local attractions include Hengifoss Waterfall, Vatnajokull National Park (Visitor’s centre close by), The Wilderness Centre, and Skriduklaustur. Egilsstadir town centre is 30 minutes’ drive from the guesthouse. Area activities include hiking and fishing.
